The Health Benefits of Consuming Basil‏

Basil, when used as a garnish for food, has a way of making all foods look tasty. It gives that professional edge to food, even for those of us who definitely do not have the cooking hand. What is it about this plant (or leaf rather) that gives that effect?

The basil leaf is small and pointy with a slight lemony scent that is unique and incomparable. It is an excellent herb for seasonings and is most popularly used in pasta and as a garnish.

Its unique taste is ideal for drink cocktails, mostly mojitos and margaritas.

This small leaf with a sensational smell possesses tremendous health benefits that one would think is outside its scope.

Basil is also an excellent source of magnesium, improving blood flow, and promoting cardiovascular health and wellbeing.

Also, the sweet leaf develops healthy skin. Essential oils found in basil have been known to be organic alternatives in treating dry skin, acne and psoriasis.
