Health Benefits of Cluster Figs-Ficus racemosa

Cluster Figs Scientific Name Ficus racemosais a species of plant in the family Moraceae.

Popularly known as the Indian fig tree or goolar fig, this is native to Australia, Indo-China, Malesia and the Indian subcontinent.

It is unusual in that its figs grow on or close to the tree trunk, termed cauliflory.

In India, the tree and its fruit are called gular in the north and atti in the south.

Cluster fig is a deciduous and evergreen tree which grows up to 98.5ft in height with a trunk diameter of 2ft 11inches.

It has long, irregular and brownish roots. The bark is smooth, greyish to brownish which has 8-10 mm as a thickness.

Leaves are alternate, elliptic to obovate and pale green.
