Raspberry Tea for Weight Loss?

Raspberry is a fruit that is always known for its delicious taste and not to mention very nutritious for the body and as we all know it is packed with many health benefits.

But, the big question is, can the tea made from the leaves and roots of the raspberry plant aid in weight loss? Well, believe it or not this little berry is so powerful and packed with the essential vitamins and minerals needed for an effective weight loss.Raspberry TeaRaspberry tea can work on the body’s metabolism by enhancing the breakdown of fat cells, as well as encouraging the individual to exercise using existing fat stores.

Raspberry tea offers many other health benefits too, it is beneficial for women during pregnancy as it can prevent a miscarriage and in menopause as it alleviates hot flashes and mood swings.

 

Raspberries is enriched with vitamin C, A and E, magnesium, potassium, iron and powerful antioxidants, a fruit many would consider to be a great summer time snack. Raspberry tea is also used as a painkiller, to treat muscle cramps; and anti-nausea agents, especially when it comes to morning sickness.

To make raspberry tea, pour 8 ounces of boiling water over 1 teaspoon to 1 tablespoon of raspberry leaf,  then steep, cover for at least 5 minutes and consume as regular tea. I often keep a gallon of cold raspberry leaf tea in the fridge so that I don’t have to brew by the cup.

To make a gallon, just 3/4 to 1 cup of raspberry leaf  per gallon of boiling water. Pour the herb and boiling water into a gallon glass jar, cover with a plate and leave overnight before straining for a strong tea.

Raspberry leaf tea is bitterer and does not taste like raspberries and can also be drank as ice tea. Both types of tea are beneficial; iced tea offers a wide array of antioxidant vitamins, while raspberry leaf tea is touted as a natural remedy and relaxant agent and is considered a safe herb.
