The health benefits of Cinnamon

According to numerous studies it as been suggested  that cinnamon regulates blood sugar, making it a great choice for diabetics and hypoglycemics alike. Cinnamon is also known to stable energy levels and moods.

It also reduces LDL cholesterol levels.  LDL is also known as the harmful cholesterol.  Reducing it may help reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.

Cinnamon  has natural anti-infectious compounds.  In studies, cinnamon has been effective against ulcer-causing H. pylori bacteria and other pathogens.

It has been suggested that studies show that patients given half a teaspoon of cinnamon powder combined with one teaspoon of honey each morning before breakfast had a relief in arthritis pains. Cinnamon has an anti-clotting effect on the blood.

When added to food, it inhibits bacterial growth and food spoilage, making it a natural food preservative.

Apparently, a study found that smelling cinnamon boosts cognitive function and memory.

However, regardless of the health benefits of cinnamon it is being advised that Pregnant women should avoid excessive amounts of cinnamon and shouldn’t take it as a supplement.
