Radish (Raphanus Sativus) a root vegetable that belongs to the Brassicaceae family and is related to kale, cabbage, broccoli, brussels’ sprouts and can be found in many varieties. A popular vegetable that is grown all over the world and consumed daily because of its sweet taste but a bit peppery.

 

Native to China radish is considered as one of the healthiest vegetable there is, a round juicy vegetable with thin white skin and white flesh, a vegetable enriched with folic acid, potassium, ascorbic acid, vitamin C, calcium, magnesium, copper, zinc, phosphorus, powerful anti-oxidants, carotene, protein, niacin, riboflavin, iron and manganese. Radish can be cooked or even eaten raw, it is normally used in vegetable salads and in various dishes and all parts can be eaten, the leaves, flowers, seeds and pods, the oil from this awesome vegetable is used too.
