Ravensara Oil

Ravensara is a tall, evergreen tree that is cultivated on the island of Reunion. The leaves of this tree are used for respiratory and digestive problems and are also made into a healing ointment. Although all parts of the tree are aromatic, it is the fruits that are used as a spice, native to Madagascar; its oil is obtained by steam distillation from the leaf. It contains analgesic, antibacterial, anti-infectious, antiseptic, antiviral, carminative, diuretic, expectorant and stimulant therapeutic properties. It is a safe oil to use as it is non-sensitizing, non-toxic and non-irritant.


Ravensara oil is wonderful oil that is gentle, has a mild scent, and is an extremely powerful remedy that supports the immune system and helps eradicate viral infections.


This oil is an excellent tonic for nervous exhaustion as it has a reviving action on the nervous system and as such is ideal for people who have been living under great stress. Its refreshing action also helps to relieve depression. Ravensara is also a tonic for the endocrine system and is helpful in the treatment of glandular fever: for this, use as a massage or bath oil or as a steam inhalation.


The diuretic property of the essential oil of Ravensara facilitates the removal of waste substances and toxins from the body by increasing urination, both in frequency and in quantity.
