Jack fruit is a tropical fruit that is indigenous to the southwestern rain forest if India, it is cultivated in the tropical regions of places such as Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Brazil and Jamaica.

Most jack fruit trees will bear as many as 250 large fruit and according to sources it is the largest tree-borne fruits in the world. 

The fruit is made of soft easily digestible flesh with simple sugar like fructose and sucrose, when eaten replenishes energy and revitalizes the body instantly.

Jack fruits are known to be rich in dietary fiber that make it a good bulk laxative, the fiber content help with protecting the colon mucous membrane as well as binding to cancer causing chemicals in the colon.

The fresh fruit have a small amount of Vitamin A, also flavonoid pigments such as carotene B, Xanthin, lutein and cryptoxathin B, which together these compounds play a vital role in antioxidants and vision functions.

As has been suggested that it is one of the rare fruits that is rich in B-complex group of vitamins. It contains very good amounts of vitamin B-6 (pyridoxine), niacin, riboflavin, and folic acid.
